Excellent for vocal recording in studios and film post production houses, Sony's C-800G Studio Tube Condenser Microphone is designed for the highest possible sound reproduction quality. The C-800G features a high-quality dual large diaphragm for true reproduction of vocal qualities, vacuum tube warm sound quality through a 6AU6 vacuum tube, a unique Peltier-based cooling system to achieve optimum tube operating temperature, and an electronically selectable pick-up pattern (Omni/Uni) for various recording applications. The package includes a power supply (AC-MC800G) and all the necessary accessories.

Golden Age Premier GA-800G

I had the VMS here against the REDD and the CM800T. The VMS didn't sound "Bat Out Of Hell" ear bleed worthy, rather the top end sounded flat and 2-dimensional. Also had custom VMS REDD profiles made by Steven Slate sent here, and it didn't sound shrill in comparison. Just flat/plastic.

Looks like your waiting for the reveal then.... Okay here it comes..... Ready.... 1. Sony C800G 2. Natural GA800G 3. GA800G with Sony PSU 4. AA CMT800 These were all performed with a proximity of 12" through a Requisite Pal Plus. No pop shield. No compression. The AA scored very highly again.

Advanced Audio CM800T (AA's take on Sony C800G)
