The Phoenix Audio DRS-1R Mic Pre/DI uses their well proven and loved Class A output stage (DSOP-2), but also has Phoenix's latest breakthrough in transformerless Class A, Discrete Mic Input Technology which gives a "valve-like" sound. The DRS-1 also incorporates the Phoenix Audio high input impedance DI circuitry.

...bell EQ This is basically the same EQ circuit as the DRSQ4M mk2 with a few tweaks and like the DRS1R/500 it also runs at 24V due to its special onboard PSU which means it sounds very thick & punchy not brittle like if its was running at 16v. Any questions as ever [email protected]
...be an excellent addition to the Phoenix Audio 500 series line up and will sit alongside the very popular DRS1R/500 mic pre amp DRS-EQ/500 4 band EQ and the N90-DRC/500 compressor/Gate. The Phoenix Pivot TC/500 is contains a mono Class A discrete channel of our fabled Nicerizer 16mk2 summing mixer and a mono channel of...
No input transformer (electronically balanced input) but an output-transformer (like in the DRS-2), same big gain knob, 26dBu output (clips at 24dBu), enough gain to amplify everything you plug in, quiet.
I expect DRS-2 sound coming out of this new design in the 500...
Thanks to the continued popularity of the 500 series, engineers now have access to some outstanding mic-pres and dynamics hardware that previously might have been too expensive for the average sized or home studio. Boutique brands are now offering 500 series units that do everything from give you...
