Description: Te Rewa O Puanga - the School of Music and Creative Media Production has recently been established to respond to New Zealand’s growth and internationally recognised reputation for innovation and creativity in both music and media production.

The School is staffed by internationally acclaimed and award-winning academics and practitioners, and is in the completion stages of building one of the largest and most high-tech studio complexes in Australasia. The fully networked facility has been designed in consultation with London-based Munro Acoustics, and houses three multi-studio complexes comprising eight acoustically treated control rooms and over 750 square metres of tracking and rehearsal studios. In addition to music production, the complex also caters for film and media audio, and includes a Foley studio and film post-production suites. The facilities also include five rehearsal rooms, a dedicated music technology laboratory, and teaching and lab spaces.

The School of Music and Creative Media Production is part of the Collage of Creative Arts at Massey University, Wellington. The School currently delivers two undergraduate degree programmes: the Bachelor of Commercial Music and the Bachelor of Creative Media Production. The Bachelor of Commercial Music is designed for those who wish to study popular music based genres, music technologies and the music industry. The Bachelor of Creative Media Production offers students an opportunity to acquire production skills used in animatronics, computer animation and motion capture, digital video, game development, audio and sound design, web and mobile development and VFX and motion graphics.
