Sweet Tea in Oxford, MS looking for interns!
Sweet Tea needs interns!!!
Sweet Tea is a recording studio working on major label projects in the small
town of Oxford, Mississippi.
We don’t aspire at all to be a "traditional" recording studio. Instead, we
offer top quality tube & analog gear
in an old, relaxed, living room kind of atmosphere.
Some of our artists / credits include...
The Hives / ‘The Black And White Album’
Modest Mouse / ‘We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank’
Modest Mouse / ‘Good News For People Who Love Bad News’- Grammy nominated
Elvis Costello / ‘The Delivery Man'- Grammy nominated
Buddy Guy / ‘Blues Singer'- Grammy winner
Buddy Guy / ‘Sweet Tea'
Jars Of Clay / ‘If I Left The Zoo’- Grammy winner
Rogue Wave, Animal Collective, Mute Math, Pilot Speed, Brand New,
Fischerspooner, The Bad Plus, The Walkmen, and End Of Fashion.
We are currently accepting resumes from prospects that are in the area, or
are willing to relocate.
Sweet Tea is looking for motivated interns committed to the audio craft with
the right attitude.
Interns should be ProTools and Mac friendly, have great studio etiquette and
a positive attitude, be creative problem solvers, employ clear communication
skills, have good hygiene and a sense of humor, and strive not to drop
things (especially microphones).
Responsibilities include the usual studio grunt work, such as making coffee,
cleaning, trash, food runs, changing light bulbs, etc. The trade off is the
opportunity to gain hands on experience breaking down/setting up gear,
sitting in on major label recording sessions, editing in ProTools, utilizing
your soldering skills in the shop, and assisting in the office.
The amount of hands on experience given depends on the attitude, initiative,
and aptitude of the intern, but our goal is to get interns seeing actual
studio time within four weeks.
Internship start dates: April 1, 2010, July 1,2010
Duration: 3 months
Salary: unpaid or college credit

EDM producer seeking studio share in NYC (union square)
I'm looking to rent time in a studio _in lower Manhattan_ (anywhere from Union Square to Tribeca) simply to monitor my ITB mixing -- I'll bring the laptop, you supply the converters and monitoring chain.
Looking for maybe 4 hours per week, daytimes only (can be lunchtime or mid-afternoon). My home studio got converted due to a new baby and this is a part-time pursuit for me. I'd want to store a controller at your place but otherwise this would be extremely low-maintenance.
Biggest draw for me will be a _well-tuned room_ -- by far the number one priority -- followed by a solid monitoring path. But really, the room matters more. Any details you can give me about measurement or construction would be helpful.
Grown-up, professional person, happy to pay in advance, sign contract, leave CC, etc etc.
thanks in advance!
PM me here or email nicholas - at - diversionmedia - dot - com
ps quite possible that i would want to do some other stuff at some point -- eg track vocals, reamp softsynths, mix down OTB -- but this is really just looking for a couple hours a week to use your room and monitors
Drummer looking for a beat or remix to solo over live.
wasnt sure if this the right place to post it but i wasnt sure where else to put it.
My band is putting on its opening cd release show in about 2 months and me (the drummer) gets to do a solo. What im thinking of doing is more of a travis barker type thing because of the type of music we'll be playing.
What im looking for is a really cool beat, remix...wtv that i can solo over live. Think Blink 182 Fallen Interlude. Im willing to pay for this song obviously.
If you think you have what im looking for please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Ill get back to you very quickly.

Ableton based pro mix engineer that will travel (London)
I'm looking for a mix engineer to help me out with some frequency and compression science for an album I'm doing. A 3-4 day blast of tweaks from Wed 17th Feb 2010.
I'm happy with tracking (Neve, 1176, blah) and where I have the mixes so far but I'm looking for some of those next-level touches to really help the mix breathe and sparkle evenly across the stereo image. I've focussed on performing and writing mostly and finally tracking many years later but would class my mix science as 'progressing'.
I don't want to take the project out of my setup here - definitely want the mixes done at my gaff 'in-the box'.
I'm based North of London and and in an open living room. This album is in Mac/Ableton with SD2.0, Abbey Road Plugs and other stuff etc.
Dance music chops highly desirable along with funk rock
It's a paid gig so if mix engineering is your day job then ping your released work through and I can send you a private listen from soundcloud.
Software development collaboration sought!
Hi, I am a 30 year broadcast producer/engineer/talent with a rock-solid development concept for a - preferably-Mac-based - muiltitrack version DAW app based, but expanding upon - the features and user-interface of an existing commercially marketed 2-track editing application.
This application software company has in fact solicited and accepted my input about future development of this concept and I have full documentation outlining the design specifications and rationale for same, but I sense slow progress in pursuing it due to their focus on what they perceive to be more profitable end-users.
I'm absolutely confident that this concept would be extremely attractive, well-received and desirable in the broadcast audio production realm, fulfilling a specific market void and providing a welcome - and commercially viable- alternative for an end-user base which has sought a simpler alternative to needlessly complex music-oriented applications adopted and adapted-to "by default."
I'd welcome the opportunity to discuss any possibilities of working with a software engineer/developer with an appreciation for the unique needs of the broadcast audio production environment. Feel free to PM me to see how we might proceed: )
