Engineers Fluent in Italian,Japanese,Portuguese,

Description: Reel Audiobooks is a high-end audio production firm, specializing in the recording, editing, QC, and mastering of audiobooks. We have aided in the production of over 500 titles/4000+ hours for industry giants, such as We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented engineers fluent in Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Hindi, or French.

What you will be doing is QC-ing audiobooks in Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Hindi, or French. What this means is you will read a PDF version of a book, while listening to the audio simultaneously, and detect and notate any discrepancies, such as a misread, omission of text, or a mispronunciation. After finding and submitting these discrepancies, we will then return corrected audio for you to insert over the issues. There will be no editing necessary for the audio other than the seamless insertion of that audio, which is very straightforward. I will give you more details on this process if we decide to proceed. The work will be consistent - it will start somewhat slow and move to a higher volume if things go well.

We will show you what you need to know for this job. Fast learning and high attention to detail is necessary. You will need to develop techniques to ensure smooth and reliable workflow. We will be happy to give you tips on how to make this happen so that you are successful and proficient. Once you're experienced the work moves very fast.

We prefer this work be done in Steinberg's Wavelab, but any DAW with variable speed playback, straightforward editing functionality, and detailed export options is fine. Other good options are Adobe Audition, Sony Sound Forge, and Audacity. We try to avoid Logic and Pro Tools, and any other non-destructive editing DAWs.

This job requires excellent email communication skills, and reliable internet access, as you will need to deliver and retrieve files via our server. We are totally fine with you working from your home studio and do not want to micromanage, we simply need the quality of work to be high and consistent.

The rate is $18.50 per finished hour of audio (PFH), on a per job basis, as a subcontractor. If things go well over the first few jobs, the rate will increase to $20 PFH. If you think this sounds doable, we can lock in details as soon as possible. While I can't guarantee work at any time, my hopes/expectations are to do a lot of work with you over the coming years.

We look forward to hearing from ...
