Mixing, mastering, reamping, etc. NRQ's Studio
I offer mixing, mastering, re-amping, editing (drums quantizing, guitars, vocals tuning etc.) Have worked in different genres for years: there are metal/rock works as well as lighter stuff (pop, soft-rock, blues, acoustic, new-age etc.)
Some of my works are available for listening on the SC and YT channels (there are published releases as well as practice/tests/stuff for fun/my songs etc.):
If you're looking for a particular genre, let me know - I'll try to find some examples which might meet your demands better.
Check my site to see the gear list (I'm going to provide a detailed list very soon) & the studio description:
Currently I do a free preview mix for everyone, once your raws meet the requirements (they are quite common though, I've just collected the list for convenience purposes). Hear what you may get before you pay anything!
The same thing for re-amping and mastering.
Since I've just started the listing here, I offer free reamping for a while (depending on the current workload). So if you're interested, prepare the DIs, some reference track (to know what you're striving for) and contact me to get them re-amped through the available gear (Mesa, Engl, Marshall, Ashdown, Krank Custom, KPA). Kinda teaser. Feel free to contact me via email!
I try to bring people together in making music in different types of projects (mass acoustic jams, small electronic bandsà.
I'm also a beginner mixer and recording engineer
My DAW expertises are Ableton & Reaper.
Free Mixing and Mastering
I am a music production student trying to build up a portfolio of tracks I've mixed and mastered. I've had several years of experience mixing my own tracks and a few professional mixing jobs. I'd really appreciate it if you could provide me with the unmixed audio tracks of your songs. Any genre would be great. I'll mix and master them for you for free. And I'd love to hear your feedback when I'm done. Thanks.
Here are some examples of songs I've mixed and mastered:

The Electric Loft is a full service recording studio in Halifax Nova Scotia, owned and operated by Jacob Hiltz, that offers analog and/or digital mixing, mastering as well as tracking services.
I love to make music, whether it be producing, engineering, mixing, mastering or any combination. Feel free to fire me an email to chat about your music.
We do online mastering for clients all over the place.
Mastering is an often overlooked aspect of projects, especially with the popularity of artists self engineering their own work. It is the last step to allow someone with fresh ears to work on a project before it gets sent out into the world. Proper format delivery is important as well. A CDR burned from your computer is prone to errors, a DDP file sent by a mastering engineer will assure that your CD's will work perfectly, and sound fantastic. Mp3's, AAC and whatever other files you need can be rendered from the source, eliminating a format change post mastering.
What formats do you deliver?
All of them! Wav (ready for iTunes, CDbaby, Bandcamp, Tunecore etc..) high quality Mp3's for digital distribution, AAX, FLAC, DDP files (for CD duplication), cassette.
What gear do you use?
The most important piece of gear (aside from ears) is the room itself. It has been treated, tested, and treated some more.
An Otari 1/4" 2 track deck warms up digital tracks if needed, and an extensive plugin collection featuring Waves, iZotope, Slate, UA, Sonnox, Soundtoys and others does the rest of the work.
1 Song $60
2 Songs $100
3 Songs $135
4+ Songs Varies
Cash, Paypal, E-Transfer or credit card accepted.
In the box or out of the box?
Mixing isn't what it used to be, some folks like the way things are going, others miss the old days of mixing through an analog console. Lucky for you I can do both here at the Electric Loft.
I have a huge collection of the best plugins from UA, Waves, Izotope and Slate, so the in the box experience is cutting edge.
I also have a fully restored 70s Yamaha PM2000 (Japaneve) console, as well as a 1/4" tape machine, so we can sit down and mix your music through some real iron and steel, straight to tape.

Looking For A Credible Engineer Who Can Mix Rap
my client just finished recording a few rap songs and we are looking for some credible engineers to send his music off for mixing
vocals were recorded on PT10. No plugins were added, so the vocals are fresh and ready for mix
but we are looking for a 90s mix, when are not looking so much for clean, bright mixes, but more of a dirty grimy mix!
perfect examples would be of those made with vinyls back in the 90s with low bit resolution.
So anyone working with analog or 2 track tapes, ssl desks or sony dash recorders, hardware not software equipment who can possibly iron the signal path to add weight to it, or maybe use NS10 etc would be great but not limited too, as Digital technology can work hand in hand with analog technology, so we are pretty aware that it based on the skills of the composer or engineer!
The reason for such request? we are looking for a human feel to our records, kind of the same way vinyl mixes gave you during the 90s
i know its an odd request in todays standards but hear me out.
we are looking for the vocals to be up in the mix - level with the snare - and have a shiny and smooth top, along with great clarity and a really open yet detailed upper midrange
the mix on this would likely be easy on compression
this mix would be very intimate and smooth
but also quintessential to NY rap sound of the 90s
A perfect example for this would be -
a mix where the vocals are just under the snare and have an extremely forward and aggressive mid-range, a grittier rolled off top end, and a steep hi-pass filter on the low end
the mix would most likely be very aggressive in compression
this mix would be edgy and aggressive sounding - quintessential to early NY sound and rap image of the 90s
A good example for this would be -
WHAT WE ARE NOT!!! LOOKING FOR -
SUPER CRYSTAL CLEAR PRESENCE AND TREBLE IN THE VOCALS
PLENTY OF ROOM FOR THE LOW RANGE DRUMS TO DOMINATE THE MIX - WHICH IS GOOD FOR CLUBS
BUT NOT WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ALL THAT LOUDNESS WAR ETC IN MUSIC TODAY IS TOO MUCH FOR US
A PERFECT EXAMPLE FOR THIS WOULD BE -

Hi, I am a young engineer/producer from Vancouver I've been in the industry for about 5 years.
I have finally taken it upon myself to build my own studio this year and am looking for some mixing positions. I do not have a Portfolio there for I am willing to do free work in order to make one!
I will however expect the quality of recordings to be acceptable. If its something I don't feel will have a good out come I won't do it. Obviously I am also going to expect credit where it is due as well as the rights to post snippets of the project(s) on my website for portfolio purposes.
I have a strong background in EDM and Hip-Hop but have some of experience with rock and metal as well.
Also worth mentioning I have done some short-films start to finish on my own so I am more than capable of that as well.
