Kickdrum Help

Hello,

Looking for some help, i have just started to make music and have been working on a kickdrum for a hardcore track.
My problem is i have been using Microtonic and found that increasing the delay has been give me more drive and energy with the kickdrum after i put my plugins on top of it, but there is a massive tail at the end of the kick and it is eating into my other sounds.

Is there a way to shorten the tail of the kick, without touching Microtonic delay, as the kick changes when i have tried this and lose the full sound and energy of the kickdrum.

Thanks

I would export or flatten the track and then slice and edit out the tails. Seems like there's many other ways to do this though.

Maybe a gate triggered by another midi track as an alternative.
