First mix on my new Event TR8's

Hi,

I just got myself a pair of Event Tuned Reference 8 Active monitors and here's my first mix using them.

I'm using Apple MacBook Pro and Presonus Firepod with the TR8's (my little "homestudio" if you could say so)

The mic I used for the vocal harmony in the end was just a AKG Perception 200. The voices are quite suddle though.

The main thing in this mix is the low-end. I want it as tight as possible.

The song is ReWired from Reason to Logic Pro 8 and it's a kind of a interlude type of song.

The ONLY plugin I put on the Master track was a little compression (RCompressor)

ps. don't mind the little awkward start of the song, i'll fix that later. It was some mess up when I bounced the mix.

Please comment !

Here's another quick mix I made of another demo.

Like I said, it's just a quick mix so I am going to improve the overall sound in the next mixes.

ps. Don't mind the name "House2.mp3" .. It's NOT house music

I like them. The first is atmospheric, with very nice bassline and sense of space. Nice and relaxing. The other choon was interesting I like the use of hi hats - were you auto-panning them as they were played? Did you put reverb on the whole drum kit?

I heard these with interest as I own some tr8s also and have been wondering if they are causing me troubles with my mixes. I think people say there are issues in mid and upper range but sounded great to me in your tunes.

you couldn´t buy better monitors in the 800,- eur price range.

and there´s no big difference to much more expensive monitors. the tr8 are the ideal learning monitors in my opinion. enjoy them!

Thanks for the comment !

Here's another mix of the song "Jammm" and I dropped the low-end a little bit because I found it to be a little boomy.

In the next mix i'll do some minor changes to the low-end.

I made a few adjustments.

What I did with the drums is that I used a lot of delay. I bussed all the drum tracks and put reverb on it. I also put some warm overdrive to make it a little "tape-ish"

Tell me what you think of it..

I'll check back tomorrow and see if it works.

Probably too much on the 'verb, the distorted sound was maybe too loud too but i liked the rest
