Loudness problem

I have a noob question to ask. I work in logic and in the mastering stage I have a problem limiting. After I get a good mix that Im satisfied with, usually with alot of head room, when I add a limiter last bringing the levels up without clipping, it is still to much lower than commercial mixes.

I usually try to push the ceiling/gain up, but then I start to lose definition in my bass/kicks, out they become severely distorted.

How can I fix this...please/thnx

But if you have a little budget, up to 30-40 bucks per track you can find some decent e-mastering services that can make wonders to your tracks in this area!
