Smile In the Bleak Midwinter - Check it out!

Two friends and I have an annual tradition where we spend a couple of days and rendition a christmas song/tune. This year we only had a day, so the following is done in under 15 hours (I did mix a little today, the day after).

For those who are interested the rhodes is from a Nord Stage. The bass synth as well.
Vocals through a Røde K2 (amperex 6922) + a pen for removing sibilance.
The strings and mallets are VSL SE Extended. Percussion/drums are samples I had around from other projects, which are painstakingly cut and edited manually.

This years song is In The Bleak Midwinter, originally arranged by Holst to a poem by Christina Rossetti. (Wikipedia)
I hope you enjoy it, and I do appreciate any feedback

She has a beautiful voice!

IMHO, would say to either pull the drum loop or start it earlier and more acoustic.

Nord has really nice sound

This is my favourite Christmas song: just played it at a jazz vespers/service on Xmas eve!

She has a lovely voice, and I think it's a nice rendition: congrats!

Spellbinding vocals, truly impressive.

Are you mixing with a sub? With mine on, the bass gets pretty tubby. Mids and highs are great.

Thank you! I can respect having a more acoustic version. Thing is, that's what we've always done and wanted to try out something new this year.

Yes, the Nord is really great.

Thanks for listening

Thanks There are some minor problems with the mix. I didn't have time to check how good it translated from the tiny room I mixed in (no sub).
That said, the idea was to have a very little percussive, while driving bass.

Thanks for listening
