Hey all can i have some mix comments on this female R&B track?

Aiming for a Lauryn hill feel, but the song feels a little "cheap" compared to the real thing, aka lauren hill, jill scott etc.

What specifically don't you like about the mixing? What aspects can be improved...

Nice..but the whole thing is too tight..check out the post round here feat' pharrel..notice how loose things are and how the vocal ties it together..get your girl to sit back on the beat a lot more ..almost falling off the stool... make it swing like it should!
Drums sound too tight..not everything has to be quantised!!
Let it breath.........
Nice one

Nice vocals. I agree with the previous post about letting it swing a little. The four kicks are just to perfect. Try some velocity editing so not every kick is hitting at the same volume.

Nice song man.

When listening to the sound I would try to make the vocal sound bigger. A tiny bit of chorus, micropitch, some small delays or even a touch of reverb. I am missing the smooth sound on the vocals. How is it tracked?

Greetings,

Harrie
