So, I had this song idea kickin around in my head, and I got around to recording it this afternoon.
As you'll see, the playing is pretty bad. I started out too fast, but I guess its not that noticeable. But the recording turned out really great! Drums are totally rockin with some serious suck in the room mics.

(192kbps mp3, about 5 megs)
I tracked drums first:
1. shure sm91 inside kick
2. at 4047 out kick
3. beyer 201 hihat
4. revox 3500 snare - boosted the high mids
5. beyer m88 rack
6. beyer m99 floor
7. apex 420 overhead
8. apex 420 overhead
9. nady rsm2 room
10. nady rsm2 room
Then guitar
11. beyer m88 front, edge of voice coil - low cut
12. nady rsm2 back of open back cab - low cut
Then bass
13. di, through amplitube - mid boost
Then keys
14. di - mid boost
Then vocals, double tracked
15. nady rsm2 - mid boost, low cut
16. nady rsm2 - mid boost, low cut
Mixed as I went along and it turned out pretty nice I think. Although I only had a few lines of lyrics written, they need a bunch of work. But in terms of the recording... its a good success, for me.
