Question Wishing You Were Somehow Hear Again for project due tomorrow... Want suggestions, etc

Hey everyone,

This is a piece I did on cheap equipment (what I had available--a built in electret, isolation headphones...edited in Logic Pro 6), although I think it came out decently all things considered (we ran out of recording time, so we had 4 useable tracks to work with). I would like to know what you guys think as well as get any suggestions that might improve it. It's primarily just for a speech I'm doing, so I'm not as concerned with professional quality--but i still want it to sound good, although I intend to get some decent equipment pretty soon (an mbox, a C01, etc... for starters) as I am studying audio recording technology at school to go into it as a professional recording artist (at least, that's the hope).

One thing I really am having trouble fixing is her peceived diction (that's just one of those things with cheap mics... but is there any way I work around it?). It sounds really muffled. Also, is the balance ok?

Anyway, tell me what you think.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Mike

Edit: I deleted the first attempt file. The updated version is below.

2nd draft...

This is my 2nd attempt... I took out the chorusing I had with multiple (2 and 3) voices as well as the panning, etc. That improves the diction, although it also reveals vocal flaws
oh well...

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Mike
