advice on entering audio restoration field/legacy format?

Hi everyone!

I apologize in advance for the cross post, but I'm a recent graduate of UAL- London, and I'm on the search for sound archives + other opportunities around the NYC area for internships within the audio preservation/digital transfer field.

I've built an interest in sound preservation, working with analog formats as my art practice (phonographs, legacy recordings) and I thought an apprenticeship/internship would be best to train in handling and preserving legacy formats and audio recordings.

Could anyone offer any advice on where I could look into, or who to contact?
Maybe I could look into other avenues besides archives?

thank you all in advance!
