What is Wet?
Old 26th April 2018
In pro audio terms "wet" refers to a signal with reverb added to it.

The expression might come from the sound from a deep water well when you drop something in it. (that's my guess of the origin)

Anyhow its an old expression.

"Make the lead vocal less wet" (add reverb to the vocals)

"The drums sound too wet" (so decrease the amount of reverb on the drums)
