D-Sub and DB25 are prefixes used to describe a type of multi-pin connector commonly used in audio equipment. The two most common variations are Yamaha for digital connections and Tascam for analog. At the other end of the D-Sub/DB25 you will generally find either 8 XLR Male/XLR Female or 8 TRS 1/4” jacks attached to the multicore cable. D-Sub/DB25 are popular are they take up less space on the rear of studio gear compared to 8 XLR/Jack sockets
