I’m a bit of a novice when it comes to making videos. I’ve uploaded about 6 videos recently and I've been really disappointed with the results.
I’m using FCPX and working in 1080p for the most part (my laptop can’t really cope with 4K). I’ve exported in all sorts of settings but h264 encoding has been my standard affair.
Recently I asked someone and they said if I upscaled or re-rendered at 1440p, Youtube uses a better VP09 codec. I did this and whilst the results were better, it still doesn’t look as good as the “pros” on YouTube.
I’m really frustrated with this, as my source files look good, but look awfully blocky and pixelated. Any help would be really appreciated.
