Partnering with Harrison Consoles Ltd. and engineer Bruce Swedien, Universal Audio recreates the Harrison four-band 32C channel EQ from Bruce’s own Harrison 32 Series console. Countless hit records have been made with Harrison consoles, from Abba to Sade. Most notably, the 32 Series is the desk on which many Michael Jackson records were made, including Thriller — the best-selling album recording of all time. Includes DSP-Optimized SE version. Using the 3232C almost exclusively for 25 years since he made Thriller, Grammy-winning producer/engineer Bruce Swedien continues his love affair with the desk he calls “marvelous sounding”, shaping hits with artists such as Jennifer Lopez. Bruce Swedien lends his enthusiastic endorsement to Universal Audio’s meticulous model of 32C EQ, straight from Bruce’s own Harrison 3232 which includes presets made up of Mr. Swedien’s favorite EQ settings. “I never dreamed Universal Audio’s design team could come so unbelievably close to capturing the sound of my beloved desk; the additional Harrison EQs within Pro Tools are becoming a Godsend.” The Harrison 32C contains four overlapping parametric bands. Each of the Low (40-600 Hz), Low-Mid (200Hz to 3.1 kHz), Hi-Mid (400 Hz to 6 kHz), and High (900 Hz to 13 kHz) bands have fully sweepable Frequency and Gain Controls. Instead of traditional Q controls, the 32C has “circuitry that automatically adjusts the effective bandwidth”, as described in original Harrison documentation, adding to the device’s signature sound. Furthermore, the Low band is switchable from Peak to Shelving EQ. Finally, the Harrison 32C features 12 dB per octave High and Low Pass filters which can be switched in or out. Additional “Digital Only” features include Gain, Phase Reverse, and a global Power switch.

Has anyone compared the UAD Harrison EQ to the EQ on the Mixbus 32? I assume they sound very similar if not the same?

What makes the new UAD Harrison 32c channel eq special?

I use the UAD 32c and its great for giving modern Synths more body to the sound without bringing out that harsh 100-150hz bump. Its great for giving them old analog vibe. The beauty is the warm sheen it provides, kind of like a nice wool blanket during winter :heh::heh: Its a great plug in....
