Dated sounds, ugly vocals, banal lyrics, cheesy production, compressed to buggery, "trying to be indie by using wolves" video, instantly forgettable..

IMO, this is an excellent, almost freakishly textbook example of what has gone wrong with popular music in the last 15 years. It's all in there, even the death-used, "Na, Na Na Na.. Na, Na" child's nursery rhyme melody. That's just my opinion.

Hope I'm not just feeding a troll thing here. Could be.

yeah i agree with you..Well your opinion is great...the melodies are so simple.. they need to take some more time into writing hooks. she is also giving out the wrong signals about this song.

Actually, for the purpose that the song was manufactured; for the demographic and psychographic targets, I'd say it's just about perfect as it is.

I think its maybe time to drop the dr luke fanboy-ism? As I said before, it's very tedious....you're the kid high on fanta at the adult's party right now.

Wow, I thought I had heard compression until I heard this Kesha track. McDonalds pancakes are thicker than this. There are no dynamics left.

What about Max Martin?

Die Young was a disappointment for me. I like the "I hear your heart..." part but the "lead synth riff" is so dated and common - boring. I thought they would hit stronger with Kesha's first single. It's not even close to "Tik Tok".

"What guitar was used for this song?"
An acoustic guitar.

Do I hear bad notes vocally in the chorus of this song? I swear I hear something weird pitch wise with the chorus vocal.

Ya'll R tone def R haters ; This is an all time classic which will easily withstand the test of time . Forty years on folk will still purchase this music just as they now purchase Beatles songs ( aahh strike the "purchase " part !!)

I like the dated synth sounds, but the melody lacks any catchiness and the lyrics are so dumb it hurts. I don't understand the recent trend of repeating lyrics to death?

In So Much Gear So Little Time I don't think it would hurt anyone's feelings if we could stop talking about Luke.
