And THAT quote is in direct relation to the quite I posted..

War is a direct result of Ego. It isnt religion, it isnt oil, it isnt money...it ALL stems from the battle of EGO. the people that blow their own horns and feel the need to make their presence known, to be better than everybody else. Take away the bastards with EGO problems, there would be NO war..

"proud fools talk too much, the words of the wise shelter them"

the MEEK shall inherit the earth.

“The foundation of the Buddha's teachings lies in compassion, and the reason for practicing the teachings is to wipe out the persistence of ego, the number-one enemy of compassion.”

The world is burning in the fire of desire, in greed, arrogance and excessive ego.
so I defer to my original statement.

Spelt?

You've got to be kidding.

Do you mean "spelled"?

i've heard (via npr) that noah webster had a large hand in making this change (-our to -or) to create a more unique, 'american' language.

Now here's something I like:

The Apostrophe Protection Society

I just HATE the incorrect use of apostrophes in plurals: CD's for example. You see it everywhere, actually I saw it being used like that on the 'New York Times' website. I thought that these guys had a clue?

It's amazing how readily journalistic powerhouses flushed their editorial oversight down the toilet with the advent of real-time online news reporting. It's as though the blogging fad has eliminated the need for care in grammar, spelling, or punctuation. CNN.com is especially egregious, sometimes they don't even bother to finish their sentences. You go back a few days later to read the same story, and they've maybe cleaned it up but the facts are different than they were the first time you read it.

Have we rehashed the argument over the abbreviation of "microphone" yet? That's always fun.

What chaps my ass (or arse, chaps) is when people f-up "your" and "you're". People, it's really quite (rhymes with Tite ) simple:

"You're" is a contraction of "you" and "are". As in, "You're a cheeky nancyboy, Chauncey."

"Your" is possessive. As in, "Your mother is going to be hella-pissed when she catches you wearing her panties again."

And sorry, I'm not taking any cultural criticism from the English simply because they have elevated f_cking up breakfast to an art form. A snotty egg? Bacon sushi? To-mah-toes? Ugh. When you people get your culture up to the level of a Nebraska IHOP we can talk, k?

However, keep the gear coming; we turn into raving money-flinging morons when something has the word "analogue" affixed (mind the spelling). Well, except for the Liquid Channel, but we forgive you.

I thought the same thing, but if you re-read his reply, he is stating that weird is correct. Hence..."NOT wierd" at the end.

You cant understand our language because you’re all descendents of hard-core criminals that the English sent away from civilization.

And why should we take stock in someone that comes from a place that is 90% sand dunes.

Im going to boycott Australian imports! Wait...there arent any.
Hey Teddy, be my guest and take the piss, however I'll have to correct you on one point. Australia was never deserted, to say that is to ignore the attempted genocide of the indigenous people.
