There has been a whole bunch of new terrorist attacks in the last few days, none aimed at Amercica, but 'western' targets, and Jewish.

Do you think these will escalate from now on as anti-western sentiment grows after the Iraq crisis? Or are you of the belief that these were going to happen anyway? Would they have really blown up a Spanish restaurant before the Iraq war?

While it seems true that they didn´t do all they could to chase Bin Laden & Co. But then again it is questionable if one could really stop such organisations who are spread all over the world mixed with civilians.
---

What seems just to be expected about Iraq again is the fact that it has been no prob to fork out hundreds of billions for military expense, but now the US government sees no way to lend meagre 6 billion$ to the Iraqis to let them rebuild their oil infrastructure, so that this way US oil companies shall have an excuse to secure their theoretical slice of ownership on the wells, which from all that life tought the observer they will be exploiting far exceedingly to the official right, leaving the scrumbs to the Iraqs state part of the future contract.

No really surprising outlook.

2nd link gets redirected but it does open.

Anyway, it's about London being a hive of Al-Quaida type intrigue because the UK sucks at blah blah too lax blah

Not sure what to make of it to be honest. But I'm sure we'll see some more of that kind of reporting going around.

I blame the Germans for 9/11 actually. Well, it was plotted there.

It was indeed curious that these guys were observed, but the indications not linked. And not only here, but same thing again in US.

All this despite of frisking and spying facilities so giant that noone can even imagine. Alone the people being payed to do the manual part are so many that their salaries put heavy strain on the tax collected budget.

Besides, while all electronic communication since a while is frisked 100% lately means have been found to take in also letters. There has been invented a technology to read them without opening. Sounds unbelievable, I know, but it´s true. So in the near future no single distance communication will be left private aynmore. ( Except of politicians´ who naturally need their privacy most heh . )
I mean I personally don´t care, have got used to the idea long ago, but if one thought big brother was a wild story he didn´t guess what actually is up.

Both stories are encouraging to me about the potential of the human race, in the midst of the most difficult circumstances.

Many of the propaganda stories, like those of brave and circumspected soldiers ( Hey, do you know why everytime innocent people are bombed out and shot? Huh? Pilots get reproached when having still loaded bombs after return while ground troops members are considered tough guys only when having killed, no matter when and whom. When there is no traget the frustrated infantiles even blow out the brains of camels and other animals. Take that folks, put in your pipe and smoke it for a while, please, just in regard of the victims it costs each time. ) and whatsoever heroes already proved as what they were, this one in the same typical way.

A story of an Amrican army girl who had not been killed but brought into hospital, being put in one of only 4 single rooms on the only one high tech bed they had, while their own wounded civilians layed in the corridors. 1000 died in the 10 days Jesicca Lynch was pampered there. They even organized instant food and orange juice for her as she refused to eat the normal supply.

The story of that "Iraqi lawyer who risked his life" is complete BS. The whole city knew of it and you could had gotten the info on every corner for nothing. Still that guy has been flown with his family to US, Washington and supplied with a 500 000$ cash-in-advance contract for a story he doesn´t have. Just to shelter the false image.

The Iraqis had tryed to bring the girl to the US troops, but as being wellcomed with warning shots, they returned without handing her over. Then the "freeing" action itself: After the interpreter of the unit had been there and asked to make sure that there was no armed Iraqi in the hospital anymore, the unit attacked. Flying in with helicopters and MPs, they shot around with blank cartridges and let themselves being filmed in heroic action, kicked doors broken, knocked over medicine apparatus and all that Rambo ****. And finally cut out that special plastic sheet of that bed to transport her away, without any need, but destroying once again.
She, being declared as having fighted to the last bullet ( although having been just faint from the beginning of the attac ) now is another symbol of brave, justiced fighter and offered free studying from universities from whole US, while the governour from West Virginia applauded for a Jessica-Lynch-day. Pardon me, but I couldn´t stop laughing when I read this. It is all so unbelieavable, one can´t believe this.

What is most annoying about this embarrassing, disgusting story and as part of the whole lie is the fact that the administration knew from similar events that it would come out shortly afterwards, but they still went on with it. Why?

Because the public sheeps have been proven that they consume only the initial image while they drop the following reality easily later.

So, such plain dump lies pay every time again.
Disgustingly well even.
Ugh!

----

BTW, really nice times for the reactionary politics in US now. With the so called Patriotic Act you can put anybody into jail, torture him and do what you want without time limit and no rights at all for the person in question. Not even the right for a lawyer.

Who is agreeing with such should not bother himself to think about democracy, not even for farce.

Don´t have a link. Info is taken from this week "Der Spiegel" edition.
But the magazin says that a very few American press houses have started to slowly report critically also on this case. Maybe you can find an article written by a columnist of the "Los Angeles Times" ( who instantly received a letter from Rumsfeld speaker Victoria Clarke, emphasizing once again that the official spokesmen would had quoted the circumstances accurately. To contradict would mean heavyily insulting of the brave men and women involved in this action.)

Now, let´s hope the columnist won´t disappear by any "patriotic act".

Incredible what´s happening to the press at times, anyway. Not only in US, but also here.
In a few years true information might be completely over if things procede the way it is now. Just horrible.

Just searched their web for you and found the article for those who understand German.
http://www.spiegel.de/spiegel/0,1518,252809,00.html

BTW, there is much more that would even be said about this big lie by officials, but the European governments avoid to speak about it as they don´t want to put strain ($) on the relationship to the US administration who blackmail their western partners to do so.

There is an unbelievable concerted blackmailing action going on. Not only to US public and press, but internationally. Even more incredible how it is being taken.

I had a post here asking for more credible sources than the BBC and Der Speigel...but what's the point? If people want to believe that the Lynch rescue was a staged promotion, then there is nothing in this universe that will convince them otherwise....

This is really getting idiodic...

Der Speigel, for those of you who don't know, is a more biased and slanted magazine than the National Inquirer...or the New York Times, for that matter...a strong socialist-oriented rag that prints whatever it feels like printing, as long as it promotes sales and/or their agenda...facts are merely annoyances that occassionally come up...if mentioned at all...and yes, I read it quite a bit while stationed in central Germany.

Der Spiegel is about as reliable as a Cracker-Jack tattoo is a rainstorm....I'm open to the ideas, but a credible source is needed before the notions of staging the Lynch rescue can be even entertained...please give a valid and citable news source.
You are very much into it I assume?

Not really too much I fear. "Der Spiegel" has been indeed a very liberal political magazin that contented all kind of reporters, from right to left wing. But that was more than 15 years ago.

When Rudolph Augstein pulled back from his magazine around that time - and already quite before - the right tendency took over progressivly. In the meantime they have kicked out almost all writers that had been philanthropic and replaced them with to dumpness conservative ones.

Today "Der Spiegel" is an clearly conservative paper, even more since Augstein died. Since that time they seem to be more keen than ever to hire distorted school leavers. So much about your knowledge about it.

Should you have read any specimen of " Der Spiegel" in the last years and still find it "socialist-oriented" ... boy, you must be far beyond the usual right wing, an ultra.

Sad to say that despite of its development throughout the past years this magazine is still one of the most serious, best informed and most investigative ones in the world. If not The One at the far top at all with an outstanding logistic and own correspondents all over the world. They have their own legal department that checks about mentioned facts, before release. - Not that they wouldn´t still fail from time to time, but they have been seriously attacked with all the power you could think of by reactionary admins and politicians in the past and are trying to throroughly prepare since then.

No investigative paper in the world would conceal that "Der Spiegel" is its international example.

Better do your homework, before spreading nonesense of this kind. This way you will be making the world laugh.

Well you kinda did.

Actually Kuwait was closed to foreign investers from the early 70s until after the first Gulf War. Now the onshore concessions are held by american oil companies.

A chunk of the large Rumaila oil fields in southern Iraq was inside Kuwaiti borders after that war and wasn't before.

If you care to dig a little bit deaper than the usual news channels these facts are easy to find.

Oh these media. Why do they always spread those conspiracy theories?
Everybody knows that mineral oil is being used to refine gas out of it, gas again pollutes benzol which then causes cancer to thousands of people. So how can one say that there won´t be found WOMD? Sure there will, and they will take it home to examine it thoroughly.

The real mystery surrounding the Jessica Lynch rescue is why the hell The Polyphonic Spree's song "soldier Girl" didnt become a spring board hit at the time.

Heads should roll!

I sent an email to their UK lable at the time - I was genuinly pisssed off!

interesting analysis

Here's a link to an article from The New Republic,
http://www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml?i=20030...manjudis063003
a magazine that supported the war.
I think it's a pretty evenhanded, unemotional look at the pre-war machinations of the Bush crew. Even though I knew a fair amount of the things in the article, I thought it pulled some of the pieces together quite nicely.
If you were pro-war, it may not change your mind about the rightness of the war, but it might shake your faith in the folks who brought it to you.

Now, if anybody thought there would come a pause of this kind of lucrative war projects for the weapon industry, then he would be unfortunately wrong.

Have you heard of Bush´s and friend´s newest project HCV yet?
Remember of that silly star wars project under Reagan that costed US tax payers over 600 billion bucks for nothing?

HCV is another one of those stupid but for a certain league profitting ideas. It shall mean wedges to be thrown on enemies from up on space level. Go and check it out.

Bush declares that with it any attempt of bad, bad enemies to come close to the US armament will be immediately destroyed and that USA politics will further be deciding and executing war actions all alone without western Allies.

Little and mid class folks in the states, prepare for your next heavy tax round while you still will have to pay additionals more than already.

And should it later come out that the wedges trick won´t work the way supposed, because of wedges heating up too much and getting soft or because the idea in general was complete BS, never mind. It will have fulfilled its purpose already. Star wars project did too.

Have a nice day.
