SIGN UP FOR CONTEST ON SONICBIDS

A Team Entertainment presents the Hip-Hop Throwdown - a unique opportunity for a currently unknown artist to be selected for a guest spot on the upcoming Capone album. The album will be released on SMC Recordings and have national distribution through Fontana, which is a subsidiary of Universal Music & Video Distribution. Hip-Hop artists of all kinds are encouraged to submit. The spot can be for a guest MC or for a producer to do a beat. The artist selected will be the artist who has the best fit. Every submission will be reviewed by Capone, Will Bronson, George Robertson (Interscope Records), Raydon Coleman, and Liv L ‘Raynge. For more information, visit http://www.capone-qb.com/

I don't consider it a very professional or ethical approach, but I'm sure they'll get some submissions, make some money, and probably get a good track or two out of it. Yeah, I would've definitely submitted something for Capone otherwise.

I'm starting to realize that the cheapening of music has resulted in a new niche market that can actually prey on the hopes and dreams of desperate musicians. This is what you get when every shmuck has the right synths and a quantize button. But the bottom line is that if whoever is charging to sell you your dream actually had the power to deliver, they'd have put THEMSELVES in a position where they dont HAVE to make money from people that way. I mean at least Rocwilder offers a funfactor of some sort.

Its funny cuz i was JUST telling my brother the other day... you can make more money selling 'answers' to desperate musicians then selling music these days. Its sad really.
