They can make ANY synth sound terrible.

A good shop but their synth demos are the worst.

Ok rant over

One time i was in there and I don’t remember the context but the folks behind the counter were talking about Mitch Gallagher demos.

I mean they sell a lot of modular, it doesn’t have to sound good for anyone that already shops there to buy it. While Sweetwater sells to every dad in a blues / worship band and thus has a different target when making videos.

Funny, they’re one of my go-to Youtube channels for synth demos. I always love the sounds they get out of synths.

Actually, thank you for posting this! I hadn’t seen the Perfect Circuit demo for the C15, but have searched several times for examples of more experimental patches on it, and this is perfect for that. While some of the playing is sloppy or uninspired, the sounds are interesting and useful (alongside the more clean and almost hyper-acoustic quality of plenty of other c15 demos). I certainly prefer Perfect Circuits C15 demo over some of the shreddy guitar sounds in the second video, which are horrible to me.

Meh. Some suck, some are good and some are fantastic. Same as most other shops.

Any demos without talking are fine and any with talking are fully cringe. stfu and synth.
Perfect Circuit are a great shop but the intro on the videos is pretty dorky.

You mean how they don't use external processing on their demos while other synth youtubers often do ?

I've heard some good and useful demos from them. Also, they know how to STFU and just play the instrument, which is a VERY MUCH a plus.

They have their use, I guess, especially in demonstrating the sonic range of a synthesizer, even (or especially) into areas I would rarely use in my own music. And they're short and "efficient." But I almost never hear anything in their videos that makes me say, "oh, that sounds really good."

I was going to make pretty much the same post in the moan zone. My friend put it best when he said that their demos sound like they are made by people who two years ago were only into guitars.

Also their shop in Burbank has a bit of a wanky vibe. I don’t like visiting it unless I have to.

Gotta ask - what don't you like about the vibe?

I actually love the Perfect Circuit demos most of the time. They might not be keyboard virtuosos, but they program more interesting sounds than most other stores/youtube "influencers" or whatever you want to call them. They're especially good at demoing modular gear.

Some aren’t interesting, some i enjoy as a full piece of music and are interesting even without selling the kit.

None are as bad as my attempts to find demos on youtube of someone breathing into a phone mic from across the room.
