How does paypal dispute work?

I purchased an item over 90 days ago, we just opened the box and it was cracked and ruined. In the sellers photo I zoomed in and its also cracked. He pointed out that the photo was an agreement and I had a 90 day return from their company and its been 100 days so he offered me $200 after I used paypal to file a dispute.

I sent paypal a photo of the sellers listing and red circled the damage.

1. Does their money get frozen?
2. What are the chances this will go my way?

I believe this item was not damaged in shipping a full on SCAM from the seller.

Maybe you should start by not waiting 90 days to open what you bought.

Normally, Paypal decides in the buyer's favor almost by default. With you having waited so long, it could go either way.

I only ever went through the process once myself. I called them and explained the situation, and they gave me the partial refund I asked for very soon afterward.
