Apple removes movies bought by users from their iTunes

Looks like maybe physical media you actually can own forever still seems to be the best course of action. Can your music be next?

I still like to have physical media in my hands for exactly this reason. The other reason is that you never know when something will happen to the servers your movies or Itunes purchases are on and you are told they cannot be recovered. FWIW

If you read the article, it's a bit of a clickbait title and actually a specific issue:

"The second and third lines of this reply relate to the fact that a specific 'region change' issue seems to have been responsible for the case that originally brought this story into the public eye"

I've had this sort of thing myself - moving from the UK to Australia, switching accounts to a different country was a bit of a pain. Not just iTunes (in fact iTunes wasn't too bad) but everything else digital. The world is not set up for ex pats!

Of course, the ways of Spotify/Netflix mean that even owning digital copies aren't going to be a "thing" for the mainstream for much longer.
