Sweetwater no longer carries Antelope

I just talked to them a couple weeks ago and they were like these converters are great and everyone loves them. Now management decided not to carry their line anymore.

I wonder why? Could it be the other converter companies complained because their converter sales slowed down when the Orion series gear came out which offers so much more for a much lower price? I think most use the same chip and Antelope clocks have a great reputation.

Could it be that "much lower price" equals "much lower margin?"

I was actually surprised Sweetwater carried Antelope gear at all. Not surprised they stopped carrying it.

Err - i seriously doubt it. That’s not how retail works.

There are lots of other places that carry them. Maybe Sweetwater looked at the sales figures and decided to no longer carry them. Most companies today are very conscious of their inventories vs sales income and if they are not selling they may drop them from their inventory. It is the way a modern business works.

You mean they don't have a social responsibility to sacrifice profits to make the world a better place?

Naw, they'll get to do that plenty once the sales tax loophole is plugged, spackled, sanded and painted.

Why is Antelope and Sweetwater parting ways?

I got an email saying they are no longer working together. Just wondering why.

When it comes to drywalling, I just want the superpower that makes invisible joints. That's gotta be an easy-to-achieve superpower... right?

They need to sell off existing stock, I'd guess.

Hmmmm .... interesting . I hope this isn't an indication of what's to come .
The industry is finicky enough without the complications of all these sub companies dropping out and leaving a trail of dribbling mess behind them.

Antelope sent it out.

I don't think so, they can always return the unsold stock to Antelope.

must be a reason.

What is paramount for Antelope is providing the best products, services and innovation to our customers.
We would like to assure you that Antelope will naturally continue supporting all its existing Sweetwater customers over this transition period and after.
Last week we have launched our new support system available on our website. This new feature was brought in to strengthen our position towards quality and our valued customers.
This system will allow us to respond, track and answer all our customer’s support needs faster and better than ever before, therefore should you have any question or queries please visit this page: Antelope Audio : Customer Support
We thank Sweetwater for their tremendous work over the last decades with Antelope. We shared an amazing journey and achieved important milestones together.
Change is a synonym of untapped opportunities and we look forward as to where Antelope, with its customers, will go in its journey for remaining one of the most innovative audio manufacturers on the market!
Sincerely yours,
Igor Levin"

What a strange situation where a manufacturer sends out an email explaining how they’re “parting ways” with a giant retailer

Not good
