...and I always thought he was just off his nut.

Although, judging by the outfit (dig that collar, baby!) and his delivery of the closing lyric, perhaps he was:

He should be shot, many times.
Remember his version of,"Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds?"

Thanks for the laugh.
Good thing that I didn't have my mouth full of food at the time, when I viewed and listened to that clip.

The late-great Mr. Chapin and his wonderful song deserve much better.

The only thing larger than the pompous Bill Shatner's ego is his lack of musical talent...

Have you ever heard/seen his rendition of Elton John's "Rocket Man"?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=NN3MGN899yE

Now that is some hysterically spraying-diet-Coke-outa-your-nose funny stuff. Watch this clip all the way through. It just gets better and better as it progresses.

There is a cool old movie theater near me that shows crappy old sci-fi/horror/cult flicks and they have an annual "Shat Fest". You guessed it, a whole evening of movies and short clips featuring Shatner. Train Wreck cinema at its finest.

If, while watching said retrospective, stuff starts to fly out of your ass instead of your nose, does it then become a "Shart Fest"?

Whatever horrendous things he has done, I could never hate Shatner.

Was everyone stoned out their minds in the 70's BTW?

I thought his cover of "Rocket Man" was poetry for sure. I also dug Stewie Griffin's cover of Shatner's RM cover.

In the words of Stewie: "Oh yeah... that's the GOOD STUFF."

Someone should find a clip of Telly Savalas singing Misty. That is just plain sadness! And Leonard Nimoy also put out an album back then too. He does "The Logical Song," and it ain't the Supertramp version I assure you.
