Just had a GREAT mastering session!!!

FINALLY!!!!!!
I didn't think I'd ever find it!

The last band I'd worked with had scored a "really great deal" from a relatively new mastering house in sydney - I went with it cause up untill then every previous mastering house had made everything sound like puss - so I guess I was keen to give them a shot. Anyway - what a wonderful change!!! The guy was an audiophile NUT and completely passionate about his work, the gear, the room the approach was all world class and he just can't stand over-compressed music and refuses to buy an L2. Even though he was doing it at a greatly reduced rate, he ran the project through tape ( a new tape - project was all digital).
Anyway - this dude really cared and it shows in his work. I'm not gonna post his details here, cause otherwise the credibility of this post would cease to exist - and that's not what this is about.
Anyway for once the project sounds better AFTER the mastering. What a refreshing change.

Awesome, great to hear good news like this!

In all seriousness, you'd be doing the guy a favor (especaily considering he gave you a reduced rate) if you posted his name and contact info - I doubt anyone would see this as spam. Good work deserves word-of-mouth support - there are too many guys out there who simply love the sound of the cash register ringing...

Turns transients into pizza. To most people L2 sounds good until they hear a real limiter.

Cheers,
