Deluge Sampler/Synth machine

Does the Synthstrom Deluge have a metronome count before recording external input? I found this workaround but seems to be a bit awkward since it's not sync and you have to trim all the time etc (YouTube)

Electro Harmonix Operation Overlord - cheap alternative to Elektron Analog Heat m2?

So I'm looking for some sort of stereo analog saturation box to beef up the sounds from my Synthstrom Deluge....the Elektron Analog Heat mk2 looks ideal, but as it costs almost as much as the Deluge I just cannot justify the then I stumbled upon the Electro Harmonix Operation Overlord which also fits...
