Mixing room size?

Realistically, can you work a small room to be accurate enough for good mixes easily?

I see that John Sayers has designed a room quite small:

Studios Under Construction

And the owner seemed to be happy with the low end. And the tracking room is by no means big neither, I wonder how it'd sound with vocal, especially when we have people belting at crazy volumes. Is non-parallel walls paramount in an all-purpose live room, no matter size?

Just wondering...

You can make a small room work if thought through properly. See the following room with before and after treatment.
GIK Acoustics. Treated and untreated listening room video.

We describe a new acoustical design that can be used for big or small rooms in AES paper, and you can find most of this information in our white paper about it.
Discussion about it at GS, you can find here: MyRoom Acoustic Design

EDIT1: Recent mix from control room designed following principles described above you can download from here (wav):
(room dimensions before treatment was 3.56x3.67x2.55m)

EDIT2: Whole cd is available here:
(mixed in studio Pressed Lizard, room dimensions before treatment was 3.56x3.67x2.55m)
