-How everything is set up right now-

Right now im running 2 unbalanced lines of Monster Cable P500 Speaker Cable 1/4" from my Numark DJ io audio interface (Soon to be upgraded) with RCA to 1/4 converters into the 10s's Balanced TRS 1/4" L and R inputs.

Then going from the 10s's xlr out puts to the rp6's xlr inputs.

all settings on the rp6's are zero'd out

but im not sure how the settings on the sub should be.

Right now the sub volume is close to -30dB
The Filter is set to 50Hz
Ground Lift is set to Ground
and Phase is set to 0°

Both rp6's are on monitor stands at ear level angled inward to form a perfect triangle at listening position

the 10s is centered betweed the moniters and under my desk.

Pictures of Setup -

I was wondering how the volume, filter, and phase settings of the 10s should be in relation to the rp6's.

I was also wondering if there is a better way to have all of this set up that i dont know about.

I don't claim to be a professional with this sort of thing, im still learning :P :P

I've got that sub too, paired with some alesis M1s

Low pass at 80 as it says in the manual I believe.

Leave phase at 0 with its position as it is.

Set the volume based on what creates the most even balance along all frequencies. (listen to some commercial tracks where you know how they should sound - don't overdo the bass, you want the frequencies to sound balanced)

Hope this helps a bit!

oh, and the sub doesn't have to be between the monitors, as frequencies that low won't be directional.

I'd turn your monitors out a little bit. Put the sub in the corner.

I don't know if you can but moving the desk forward a little bit would be nice and kinda placing the speakers behind the desk and less angled in may sound better, with better and more relaxing stereo imaging.

The sub does not need to be in the way of your feet. Place the sub behind the desk or to the side of the desk.

Move it around and work with the placement and you will find the good sweet spot.

I just got my krk rp5s and 10s sub.

heres how i balanced the 10s with the rp5s.

things you need:

audio file sweeping from 20hz to 20khz - download link at
need spl meter set to slow C-weight
if using krk rp5s set level at rear to +6db
if using krk 10s set te crossover to 80hz

turn on spl meter , stand at listening level
play audio 14 sec u should get a peak db reading on your Spl meter.
at 28 sec u should get another peak db reading on your spl meter.

(i got my peak levels at 14 sec and 28 sec but your setup could be different, just note the highest db levels and match them)

adjust the volume level of your subwoofer at the rear of it until the first db peak reading matches the other peak readings.

heres a video i made --> YouTube - How to calibrate active subwoofer with studio monitors using spl meter
