Question Left or Right for Patchbay on Console

Lets say your studio isnt built or designed yet and you are buying a console with a patchbay. Would you put the patchbay on the left or the right

Which is the most common?

Here for the gear

I don't think it really matters, but I like my patchbay to be at my right hand side. In fact, patchbays on the left hand side drive me as crazy as singers that use AutoTune.

They are usually on the right but mine is on the left for a few extraneous reasons...

I'm attaching a pic of the room layout. This will be my room until i hopefully design a bigger one someday.

The room is 13ft wide but mini traps on post bases will take away about a foot of that on each side. The console will be 6ft 4" wide with the patchbay and Master section will be in the middle. So if i order the patchbay to the right of the desk, move the desk off centre so the Master Section is in the middle of the room i place the outboard on my left?

Thanks for help.
