I recently bought an Auratone 5s for the purpose of mixing in mono to try and detect flaws in my mix (was reading that quite a few people on this forum use this technique). I recently tested it out in room eq wizard (REW) and saw it had a huge boost from 100-400 hz. I was wondering if I correct this using filters to make the response more "flat", is that defeating the purpose of mixing on the auratone? Has anyone else observed the same thing inside of Room EQ Wizard? Any tips or guidance is much appreciated! Attached are my graphs
Yes that part I understand. The bass is significantly louder on the 5s than the 5c though and my question is should I correct that to match the frequency response of the 5c in your or others opinion?

Well what are most people listening on now? When you walk into a store, or having a drink at a bar or driving around? That's what I would consider the most in terms of finding a reference. Also EQing the response in in one spot, when people listen to music these days they are rarely sitting down in the same spot unless they are driving. Auratones were useful to replicate the weird response when people would get up and move around or listening without paying attention to location.
The point of the Auratone is no crossover, which yours has. But if the larger cab is making it sound boxy, and you high pass it or something, you may be taking away that advantage. That dip at 700hz though... maybe why they didn't sell many.
