How Effective is Rockwool?

Hey, I'm looking to DIY some room treatment and the usual go to is rockwool, but I'm not sold on its effectiveness. I've heard that there could be better materials but im curious to see what has to be said here.

They will. e used in conjunction with other remade absorbers and diffusers but im wanting to know if a brand purchase is better than a DIY?

4" thick(or more) Rockwool is the sound of a reflection I like.

Rockwool is a brand. Their products are effective at appropriate GFRs. Right now Rockboard 40 is the best at 4"(100 mm) thickness.

You want more? Give specifics.

I'm sound treating a room that's roughly 2.5m by 5m with a tall ceiling. I know at these dimensions that low end will be an issue, and it has wooden floors so it might be a little bright too. Any advice would be helpful.
