Narrow Room - Can I place the LR speakers on the side walls?

Hey all,

I desperately need advice regarding the LR speaker placement in a narrow room, destined for surround work.

The room has the following dimensions: W: 2.3m and L: 4.9m

As per the equidistant speaker placement guide, at the minimum recommended 0.4L (1.95m), the L and R speakers, at 30 degrees, are to placed on the sidewalls.

Is there a way to treat the room as such in order to have the speakers on the side walls?

If the mixing spot is brought forward, for example at 1.5m then 30 degrees would all the speakers to be on the front wall. Could that be a possible alternative scenario? Obviously more problems will come of that but I'll deal with them next

In the front wall there is a window which I will of course seal. as the room is quite long I have been thinking of creating a stud wall and I could soffit mount the LCR speakers if that would make any difference. I'd be more than happy to sacrifice from the length for that purpose.

Lastly, all speakers would be calibrated using the DAD AX-32 SPQ card.

Might there be any tried and tested advice?

Thanks all
