DIY Space Coupler: Optimum cell dimensions

Hello everyone,

I'm about to construct some "Space Couplers" and place them above the mixing position. Above the couplers there will be 4" absorbers.

I've checked the dimensions of the "couplers" from different companies and noticed that even though most of them are exactly the same (with 8x8 cells for 2'x2'), some are 7x7 (and thus the cell space is larger).

Also, the depth of the cells is always 3" but I've read in an old post that the deeper the cell is, the lower the frequencies the space coupler affect.

So I was wondering whether I should go for larger cells (7x7 cells in a 2'x2' frame with 4" depth) instead of the "usual ones".

Any opinion will be much appreciated.
