Building an Analog Studio

I am about to start construction on a home studio in my basement, this will include a live room, iso room, and control room

My main focus of the studio is analog recording

As much as I would like to be 100% analog, I know that in today's day and age its very hard to do. Therefore I will still have a computer running ProTools so I can dump the tape into it.

Now my big question and what i cant seem to figure out is how im going to hook all of this up.

I'm looking at getting a Tascam MS-16, a 16 Channel Snake (for the live room) and as far as an interface it seems like the MOTU 16A is my best bet.

I'm just wondering what the best way to hook all of this up for the best workflow would be

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Look for either an in-line console, so you can monitor playback with fewer channels, or you’ll need at least a 32 channel board, 16 going to the MOTU, 16 coming back. Maybe you could work something out with 24 channels, playing back stems.
