Best room measurement software

Has anyone here used REW and other software. How does it compare? Please share your experiences as I am looking for an alternative.

I worked with TEF (not my own),MLSSA, LAUD, Easera, WinMLS, Smaart and ARTA.
Now I use ARTA because I was used to MLSSA and ARTA is a bit like MLSSA and it has some nifty features for measuring environmental stuff.
If I work with REW I have to figure things out but I see no reason why, if you don't own other software already, you would pay for other software.

Yes, I’ve been using REW (for the last 8 years). Before that: TEF, WinMLS, Fuzz Measure.
The second hand TEF12 cost me USD 4000 back in the -90th!
A 21kg/ 40lb box with a floppy disk computer inside. A laptop is a bit handier

Why? Is REW too ”complicated” or do you miss some features in the current REW software? Just curious...

Cheers

I started in 1989 with a 286 computer with a coprocessor for MLSSA. The motherboard has changed a couple of times but the case with the same MLSSA board is still used as measurement system by a Dutch PA-manufacturer. If that ain't sustainability I'll never speak again .

i've been using simple rta's and then fft's pretty much since they became available (meyersound sim and smaart) but they are aiming at live sound (which is what i'm mostly into these days) and hence miss a few features of rew...

For a free software, and available on Windows and OSX, REW is fantastic!
