Jimmy eat world clarity microphones

My favorite record of all time is Clarity by Jimmy Eat World. It doesn’t sound anything like their other records imo. I’m having trouble finding what kind of equipment they use, but I’m super curious what mics they were using (particularly the drum and vocal mics). Can anyone help out?

Preamps, weird recording techniques, etc are also welcome.
Thanks!

I’d recommend posting this in a different forum besides acoustics.

I can tell you this was a Mark Trombino recording, so if you search any info on him or his techniques you’ll probably find more. He also recorded Bleed American, so that shows that same band and producer can make different sounding albums.
They also recorded it to tape from what I remember hearing from engineer buddies.
My guess is the mics weren’t anything special. Instead, it was the room, the drums, the drum tuning, the amps, the guitars, and the players...

I DO remember hearing one weird thing about them recording the longer song (Goodbye Sky Harbor if memory serves) drums at a different speed for some reason so when they sped them up they sound a bit thin.

That’s all I’ve got. Good luck!

One of my favorite records of all time. I know they used different sized kits in different sections of the songs (especially goodbye sky harbor). Also lots of drums loops going on.
