Building a new studio

Hi guys... first time posting

I am building a video production studio in my back yard. I live in a rural area and my neighbors have dogs and I want to isolate my studio from sound coming in from outside, but I am on a very tight budget.

My plan is to do 2x6 construction and add extra insulation between the studs.

What other advice can you give me that won’t be too expensive?

Studio will be 30x40 feet.

Typical jobs are talking head interviews and such... no music or complex audio projects

Thanks!!

You should really specify what 'tight budget' means. There are guys here who will offer the best options, givena specific budget ceiling and measurements. Does this area have planes regularly flying above? Or trains? Etc..

If you stand where you want to build your studio, what is the highest SPL (sound pressure level, measured in decibels) that the dogs and other noises produce? This will give you a rough idea of how much isolation you will be wanting to plan for.

Both good questions. Not enough info to recommend something. That never stopped me, hah!

Look into modular prefab concrete garages and see if you can afford it.
