RSIC-1 vs GenieClip RST

Hi All:

I am converting a spare room in our basement into a small recording studio. I've read through Rod Gervais' Home Recording Studio book and am currently planning out construction and materials.

Due to room layout limitations, I am unable to do a double-wall or staggered wall construction. I am planning on using clips/resilient channel with two-layers of 5/8" drywall and Green Glue compound on the walls and ceiling.

I noticed two products available here in Canada--RSIC-1 clips and GenieClip RST. I was unable to find or interpret much data online to find which product is better.

GenieClip is approx. $2 cheaper per clip, but I would rather spend the extra funds if there is a significant difference in STC and IIC.

Any information would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Drew
