Drywall or sound board?

I'm converting my garage into a studio by building a framed room with a room. I'm going to follow Rod Gervais's two leaf system to achieve Mass-Air-Mass by having 2 layers of Drywall (with green glue between each) on each outside face of the wall, inside and outside the inner room.

My builder has proposed using "Sound board 'A'" by which I presume he means specialist acoustic board. But if I am using the two leaf system above, am I ok to use normal drywall board, which is a lot cheaper?

Thanks

Just be sure to use the heavier fire rated drywall, but no need to pay extra for the brand name in your case.

Also, havent seen you around in a while Lester. Good to see you back!. Hope youve been well.
