Listening position in a room with windows

Not sure if I'm posting on the correct forum since this is not really a studio but I'm interested in the correct listening position with a 5.1 speaker setup.

I've read that the listener should face the window and speakers should be placed near it. However, I'd like to avoid placing the tv near the window.

I've come up with two ways to place the speakers:

The second one has 2 rear speakers facing each other. Would that work?

I appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks for the link. I did visit it earlier but some forums suggested that rear speakers may be facing each other.

I know it's not ideal but I'm more interested in the window's role in speaker placement.

If youre not setting up the room for critical listening, its not a big deal

So is there no advice anyone could give me from their personal experience?

I understand this won't matter much but one way or the other should be better.

Setting it up like the specification is better, if youre not performing critical listening then it doesnt really matter if the speakers face eachother. I dont understand where the confusion lies

As far as the windows are concerned, placing a speaker near a window may not provide the low frequency boost associated with boundary proximity. As there is less mass and rigidity than other building materials. This would depend on thickness of glass and other building materials of course...
