MIDI Recording - Why does new / stack still play previous take?
I'm new to Cubase so apologies if this is obvious. I have my MIDI recording settings set to New Part and Stacked (not mixed). I record some MIDI, which creates an event. Now, I want to go back and record some MIDI again over the same section in the song. However, unlike audio recording, Cubase doesn't seem to mute the previous take even though I'm recording over it. It plays back the previously recorded MIDI while I am trying to record new MIDI even though I'm not in mixed mode.
Thanks, but it is set to stacked. I'm not using cycle record, just recording over existing parts. PT and Studio One automatically create new takes when you do this, even if you're not in cycle record mode.
