lock the MIDI to the grid in a fashion so that when i change the tempo of the song everything doesn't go haywire, and fall out of sync with the new tempo. I cannot find a method when i google this subject, all the methods are for locking live drums to a single tempo.
It seems like it should be so easy to do. In alot of other programs you can adjust the tempo of a track on the fly, and the midi will follow suit.
This seems to be something Cubase isnt quite great at.
You have more learning to do, then. Cubase has always done this, since Atari days.
You can change the default behaviour of tracks by going to file/preferences/editing and selecting "musical" in the "default track time type" dropdown.
You will also see a little icon like a clock in the inspector for the track. Click on this and it will change to a crotchet, indicating that the track is in musical mode.
yea i do have alot to learn about Cubase then
thanks alot! Im gonna give this a go, and also look some more on google to try and find more indepth examples. I figured it was something as simple as me working in the wrong mode
