Cool tune, nailed it I think. I'm worried about your ?RCA 44? not having a pop filter though.

I did use a pop filter when I was actually recording the vocal.. But here I was lip syncing and mostly pretty far away.. Its an AEA r44 and a fairly large ribbon soI don't think its supremely delicate.. Thanks for watching!

A song for my daughter = Along your Way

I know my style is hopelessly dated, but here is our latest effort. I wrote this for my daughter who just went off to college. She moved to Oakland where Pitt is located. I went there myself in the late 70's. I remember how exciting it was then. That's Charlie DeChant of Live at Daryl's House and Hall and Oates on sax!

Not sure this is the right place for this, but I've put together an EP during quarantine if anyone wants to check out. Try to see past the crappy production lol.

Just Like Gloria Gaynor

Had my share of heartache
Had my share of pain
Been caught in the middle
Standing in the rain

I'm not one to dwell on the past
Or moan about bad breaks
I'm gonna pull myself up on my feet
I'll do whatever it takes

Life can be such a bitch
Can knock you on your ass
It can suck like nothing else
I don't mean to be crass

You can sit around cursing your luck
And wondering why it went wrong
I'm gonna tell you what I'm gonna do
And sing it in this song

Just like Gloria Gaynor
I'm gonna fight to survive
That girl could take on a tiger
And come through it alive
There's nothing out there can stop me
The world will bow at my feet
You can join in my conquest
As I take to the street, destiny
I will break free

The days of suffering are over
The devil can go to hell
I feel the energy soaring
My mind's as clear as a bell

Repeat Verse 4

Repeat Chorus 2x

Beautiful noise from Biskit, guitarist and songwriter with 1990s punksters CBU, Freestyle Disorder and later T26" and general madman of the 1990 - 2010 period. Bisket & Co were Rehearsal and bar-room neighbours, friends, enemies & arch-rivals of The Verve (Wigan). But the record companies would not touch these guys with a barge pole due to the excessive indulgence, wild and hilarious stage antics and blistering live performances - moshers going nowhere maybe - but The Verve were just playing the game....and besides, it was only Ashcrofts misery-laden borrowings of the infamous Jagger/Richards riffs saved them from being dropped by Hut, as Simon Jones himself later confessed on YouTube...
Steeped in dark, laugh-out-loud humour, snidey delivery and questionable personal politics, hear the man behind the real thing;
without money, without help, and without a care in the world.

Pulled from dusty VHS & Remixed by Fantom Aeronautics 2020.

Not my cup o' tea style-wise but I gotta say since I've been listening on here the last couple years that your stuff has really improved, from production to performance. In particular on this one the strings and the horns were well done and built up some nice energy and the vocal was placed right where it needs to be in the mix.

I would clean up some of the noises in between the words and of course my standard response to anyone seems to be use real drums and other instruments where you can. But I could imagine this song being placed with a TV show for various scenes, from comedy to motivational.

Thanks for the listen, comments and suggestions. Unfortunately, don't have access to any real instruments so I do what I can. Yes, vocal noises can definitely be cleaned up but I'm too lazy to do it. If there's an easy way, I'm all for it. But right now, I have to go into wav file and remove every click, hiss and breath by hand and that takes forever. So I don't do it, especially since I'm no singer anyway.

Crazy World

I have been working on this one for a while, written while sick with Covid. Recorded a few weeks after recovering, but even months later, I'm still with the sore throat that is taking forever to go away, so forgive the vocals here.

Sorry, but I just worked out how to make the actual YouTube hosted video to show in the forum post by using
youtube and /youtube in square brackets.
So heres the proper track previews that should have been in the original post featured above.
Gearheads should Note that FA06 and Microsampler were used in this remix of both tracks, (Can you spot where?), though the guitar riffs are real - Mosher was played on Les Paul and King was played on Ovation electro acoustic (yes, really).

Finished one in a genre I don't normally write or record in (post-grunge/rock), but I am happy with how it came together. Got to finally put my baritone telecaster to work in the studio.

Thanks for writing this tune and bringing attention to the very serious issue of humongous genitalous. As someone who has suffered from massively oversized genitals all his life, it truly means the world to me to hear my plight expressed in song.

Not sure what to make of this, or what people may make of it. It's very conflicted and weird. But certainly combines a lot of different elements. Anyways... also, youtube doesn't do the mix justice, some quality was definitely lost during upload.

I can never post examples of my work because I’m usually not the songwriter. There is a recent exception and here it is. I’m probably looking more for validation than criticism (isn’t that the case for most of us?) but I know the internet is a rough place. Mostly, I hope you enjoy this.

Reminds me of some of the light prog rock I used to listen to in the mid to late 70s. Pleasant enough. Vocals could probably be a touch louder but that's a minor nit pick.

Fantom Aeronautics - Revenge of the Wave Speed Cosmonaut
Recorded at Fantom Aeronautics 13 Dec 2017

Sonics:
Roland FA06
Korg Microsampler
Roland TD11KV
Roland W30
Korg Kaossilator

Personnel:
TD11KV Drums by Duane Plush
Bass Guitar by Bootsy Collins
W30 keys by Emily Duchamp
All Other Noise made on Roland FA06
& Some small fragments on Kaossilator

Please note that these recordings are made 'Old Skool' with raw wave audio - no DAW was used in their creation. I cant be bothered learning how to use one so I dont bother. MiniDisk is used a lot, as is PC - as a glorified tape recorder.
No MIDI or programmed sequencing was used in this track either. All done the old fashioned way - by ear and hand.

Any queries about this or any other Fantom Aeronautics track, fire away
