Let's try that again! The Soundcloud file was originally marked private. It should play now. [crossing fingers]

Hey, love the track! But the transient-s***** over processed drums becomes kind of distracting to me. The whole sound is rather "rusty", but that really fits the music. A good drummer would automatically balance out and contrast that. It sounds like someone who isn't really a drummer did the drums on this track I guess. But anyways, cool song man.

Drummer since 1964 ----

These are samples from our processed Kurzweil 90's sound -- drums where all performed~ tapping on the keyboard ( 8 tracks ) ( & post guitar ) ,, tracked on a Roland VS 1680 ...

Could be a little part of the rusty

Mixdown to a Masterlink ~~ 1999

Yeah, that makes sense. It sounds like some samples played on a keyboard.

That's all we still use >> since the 80's -- 3 Kurzweils with 8 outs each.

1986 >> Last time I was recorded on analog drums -- in the studio https://soundcloud.com/cjogo2/story-book-children

Listening on computer speakers in my office.......where my stuff always gets a final listen. Kind of a mono, lo-fi presentation where some important elements will stick out badly if they are not right.

Vocals and drums sound like they are right where they should be.

Good song , remind me of Blues Traveler

About the mix ,I would put some kind of distortion in the lead guitar , I think a more rocking sound fits more the vibe of the song

Has kind of a stripped down Alternative Rock sound. I like it. Definitely different.

What library did you use for the cello?

Glad you like it...thanks.

That cello is actually a cello/violin patch from my ancient Ensoniq MR Rack synth unit triggered from an almost as ancient Kurzweil keyboard.

Although I've been hoping for a song featuring you wailing on the B3, I still think it's great. So very well done! Same with Better Angels, which I'm listening to now. You're making some great music!

Gig Harbor is where I bought my B3. Alas, I had to sell it a couple years ago. Broke my heart.

It's All on You is playing now. I like that one a lot, too.

So nice of you to say!

There’s some old fashioned Jimmy Smith style stuff in that playlist!

So, cool tune, everything sounds nicely balanced and the room sound is really nice. If I had to say anything, I would say that I could use some contrast. Between sections and within sections where everything sits in the same nice, roomy, pillowy space, I feel something should stick out. For instance, in the intro, maybe the lead guitar could be more in your face and dry from the rest and then the vocal can take the guitars place as the thing that's more in your face when it comes in.
Just my .02. Great job!

Cool song man! I would say your vocals don't need to be be so sharp in 2-5k range in a song this sparse.
