1. Excellent mix.

2. Odd time signature makes it somewhat interesting.

3. Musically meh. Lyrically nonsensical.

4. Another forgettable song. Common theme for this CD.

Acoustic song from my 20s

Wrote this depressing song about 16 years ago lol. It's a bit much.

Trying a new technique where I grab the Izotope Spire and record a vocal/guitar song with single-mic in one take. It's good for sneaking a song in before the kids get home! Then I mess about in Garageband adding layers. This time no metronome so it was a bit tricky.

That first line was so powerful! Amazing song! Lots of emotion and the vocals fit that emotion perfectly with the instruments

A cover of a favourite song by a band who were incredibly influential to me in my early years.
Did this all on my iPad and it’s a bit rough still. Watch out for the low end, might have overdone the bass on the low percussion!
Any constructive feedback is welcome.

15th track from my upcoming CD "Still Out Of Sync" in honor of my grammar school reunion.

As The Years Go By

You walk into that room
Filled with doom and gloom
You don't know what to make of anything
Then suddenly you find
It was all inside your mind
Soon you laugh and soon you start to sing
And the words they just come out
And you know you want to shout
And tell the world you feel just like a king

As the years go by
And our tears they light the sky
And the past it seems to come around again
And to our surprise
Happens right before our eyes
Enemies they soon turn into friends
You don't even have to try
As the years go by

The end of day arrives
Feels good to be alive
You wonder what the fuss was all about
You had a real good time
The thought it blows your mind
No point in trying to figure it all out
And the words they start to form
No longer are you torn
And all you want to do is sing and shout

Repeat Chorus

We may never come this way again
At least we know we left as real good friends

Repeat Chorus

This song meant a lot to me and I think it shows. Probably the best song on this CD. Honestly, I can't really find anything wrong with it but if anybody can think of something that they think isn't right or could be improved on, I'm all ears.

Okay, now THIS is really cool. Wasn't sure what to expect but this exceeded any expectations I might have had. I don't normally like covers but this is really great. Didn't hear any problems with the bass listening on headphones. Love the vocal FX on the backgrounds. Vocoder?

Anyway, well done.

Very nice. Know what I'm curious about? What vocal mic do you use? Because the vocals, which I assume have no processing at all on them, sound very clear.

16th and final track from my upcoming CD "Still Out Of Sync"

Riding Off Into The Sunset

42 years on the road
Not a drop of water in sight
42 years of a load
Nothing changes but day to night
Alright, alright, alright

42 years with the band
Haven't got a hit to our name
42 years digging sand
Sick and tired of playing this game
The fame, the fame, the fame

No more going down this road
Gotta find a new abode

Riding off into the sunset
Waving bye to destiny
Gotta try for new horizons
Gotta set myself free

42 years way too long
Something had to finally give
42 years the same song
Now it's time to finally live
To Live, to live, to live

No more going down this road
Gotta find a new abode

Repeat Chorus

Instrumental Break

Repeat Chorus

Riding off into the sunset
Riding off into the sunset
Riding off into the sunset
Riding off into the sunset

Basically, well done and well recorded and mixed. Song is decent but nothing special. If anything maybe a bit predictable and generic. Still one of the better songs on the CD.

So this CD took me over 4 months to do and, quite honestly, not even close to being one of my better CDs which proves that time spent does not equate to quality. It's not a terrible CD. It's just meh.

Conversely, the CD I did after this one I completed in 30 days and it's arguably the best thing I've ever done. That's the difference between inspiration and methodically working long and hard on something. Sometimes inspiration trumps hard work.

Anyway, next week I'll start posting the songs from my CD "The Cool Cat In The Wind" which I finished on 9/2/2019.

If anybody wants to listen to it now, it's on my Soundcloud channel.

Here's the link.

Hi Wag. I’ve been neglecting this forum a bit lately. Apologies to all for that. I’ll definitely have a listen.

Hey Zyz,

I have no constructive feedback -- just to say that I really love this. It's one of my favorite songs and you give it an excellent, laid back vibe that is so cool.

It also never ceases to amaze me that you can do all this on an iPad too.

Coincidentally, I also did a cover of this song just recently. Except mine is instrumental (done on a modular synth). But also an homage to a great song that I love!

I played around with some ideas this weekend. I quite like some of the parts. Rhythm guitar was played through wrong amp settings, bass may be too pokey. And it sounds like drums do not really gel with everything else. Not sure how to give everything a bit more depth. Though this is a rough version for now (my biggest problem is finishing a track from start to end so this is at least going in the right direction). Any feedback appreciated!

Cool, add some vocals (remove lead guitar) and it's a song.

A cover version of a song a friend did. I added a bridge and made a lot of changes.

This is the original that I remixed.

This is my brand new version

Hi Z

Cool version. Coming out of the laptop, some of the harmonies sounded off pitch, but via headphones sounded much nicer. Worth checking though, as some systems may highlight this too?

Always like your stuff mate.

Hi Wag, finally got round to checking this out. I do like it! I like the synthy "guitar" type sound.

If you feel like having another go at the chorus, try singing "the cat's jamas" instead of "pajamas". In the UK, we say jamas for short and I think it will sound cooler. I think the word pajamas makes it more kitch, which is fine, but I think jamas would just make it more unexpected and cool, as the actual phrase is 'the cat's pajamas", but changing that word to a slang word just seems cool.

Anyway, I dig it and enjoyed it. It was funky, groovy Wag in action!
