I was so waiting for this. A Mastering Compressor based on the Variable Mu design @ 120 V, with a feedforward circuit it appears (really curious about this too) + the possibility to choose different tube for the rectifier, integrated sidechain eq presets, all high end switches and knobs (Elma & ALPS I believe) pure genius at Spl on more time. Can't wait to try this

It is a Hardware unit wich design is inspired by its EQ Counterpart the SPL Passeq :

Kurzbeschreibung: Sound Performance Lab

But as the Passeq was also released as a plugin maybe this will happen, but let the Hardware be released first shall we

"Stellar art work, awesome name, looks like software, not the same" . heh!

Sorry, I couldn't resist. That is an original composed right before our eyes.

I love SPL gear most likely more than most. I hope its hardware. I love their 120v technology. I'm a proud owner of the Neos and used the Passeq for years.

Definetly hardware (take a look at how this thread started!) but yeah maybe they have a software version in the making, definetly looks like it. I agree, the Passeq sounds wonderful! This thing won`t be cheap unfortunetly .. my bet is somewhere around 4000€ ..

Could easy be more like 14000€.

If it is as cheap as 4000€ I would be very pleasantly surprised.

Hmm ... yea maybe. Since the design is so closely related to the PASSEQ I would be surprised if the IRON would be more than double the price. Also a few other products by SPL are slightly more affordable compared with the high endy competition (except for the discontinued PQ of course Well, soon we ll know...

Just arrived via Twitter a pic of the inside (second one - article in german). Seems to get its own transformers and ECC83 tubes.

Ah yeah not looking as crazy to build as some of the other vari mu's with insane amounts of matched tubes etc. Might not be so much $ after all.

Here for the gear

A seamless continuation of german world war II heavy tank design. 1000 $ extra for the massive chassis - protects against RPG fire and untimed artillery shells.

Not even re-labelled, it says "by Lundahl Transformers Sweden" on the label.

Looks pretty busy to me, considering it is quite a close pic. Custom Inputs and Outputs Trafos by Lundhall slurp

My guess is it will be more expensive than the Passeq, wich is SO inexpensive for what you get IMO.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if this one's in the 4K range

It all depends where SPL did/wants to do this one,
either Neos-like 10K because of the 120v
or more like the PassEq. Looks amazing anyway,
in the 4K range I'd actually consider buying it assuming it sounds as it looks, I don't have a Mu anymore
