"What happened to the cassette?!" he says...

So I was in Sam Goody the other day (for those outside the US it's basically an overpriced music/movie store). As I was walking out I hear a man ask the teenager at the counter "Where are your cassette tapes?"

I turned around to eavesdrop because I just had to hear this...

The kid says "Uhhh... I dunno... I thought they stopped making them years ago... But we've got CDs, they're better than tapes."

The man says: "That doesn't do me any good! I don't have a CD player!"

The man continues: "So now I have to buy a CD player just to listen to music?! Who the hell decided to stop making tapes?!"

I wanted to rush over to the guy and give him a shoulder to lean on and say "there, there, its ok..." but then again I really wanted to get to my car to listen to my new CDsheh

Most of the albums he wants are probably down the second hand store on tape for a few bucks, should have told him to head down there...The local second hander had all the beatles on tape, it was cool but i hate cassettes... burn you all.

Is vinal a linear format?
